Where to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Youngstown

This March, the Youngstown area is going GREEN to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Cheer along with local marching bands at the 42nd St. Patrick’s Day Parade, plan an Irish breakfast date at Magic Tree Pub & Eatery or listen to Irish bagpipers at O’Donald’s Irish Pub and Grill in Austintown. Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade – CANCELED

Celebrating its 42nd Anniversary on Sunday, March 15, the Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the largest parades in the state of Ohio, drawing more than 25,000 spectators each year. The parade will begin at 1pm on Market Street and McClurg Road in Boardman, then head north on Market Street to Southwoods Avenue. Expect a variety of local bands, Irish dancers and parade floats, all celebrating this year’s theme, “Irish Heritage…Rooted Deep in the Valley.”

Local Tip: After the parade, head down the road to Cocca’s Pizza for $1 draft beers and $10.99 Reuben rolls (until 7pm).  

 

Magic Tree Pub & Eatery

Magic Tree Pub & Eatery in Boardman pulls out all the stops for St. Patrick’s Day with three full days of celebrations. On Saturday, March 14, the party kicks off at 10am with live music outside ($5 cover) and Irish entertainment inside. A full Irish menu, including lots of beer, will be available all day long. On Sunday, March 15, Magic Tree will be serving a traditional Irish breakfast from 9am–11am, followed by live music the rest of the day. On Tuesday, March 17, the festivities continue with more traditional Irish food and music.

Ohio’s largest St. Patrick’s Day Party returns to O’Donald’s Irish Pub and Grill in Austintown on Tuesday, March 17 – and you won’t want to miss it. The event features a full day of festivities, including plenty of Irish food, green beer and live Irish music. This year’s entertainment includes Schaffer Brothers, Irish Bagpipers, Dolan Family Singers, Disco Inferno, Old Skool and DJ Fish. Check O’Donald’s Facebook page for more event updates!

 

ShamRock the Block – CANCELEDThe Federal
The Federal | Downtown Youngstown

Downtown Youngstown will also be celebrating all day on Tuesday, March 17 with ShamRock the Block. Hosted by The Federal, this event features over 12 bars, heated outdoor tents, authentic Irish food, and indoor and outdoor entertainment. The Federal will open for festivities bright and early at 7am, while outdoor tents will open at 11am.

 

Halliday’s Winery
Lake Milton

Halliday’s Winery in Lake Milton will host its own weekend of celebrations, filled with delicious drinks and food, March 13-15. On Friday and Saturday from 5pm–7pm, enjoy Happy Hour specials like 2 for 1 Irish drinks and $1 off Irish drinks. Live music will be from 7pm–10pm. All weekend long, order from Halliday’s extensive Irish menu (think: Reuben paninis, creamy potato soup and more).
