Opera Western Reserve is returning to live performances with back-to-back events at the DeYor Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 11, 2021. First up are two FREE performances of The Three Little Pigs children’s opera at 4:30pm and again at 6pm in the outdoor garden at DeYor. Families can bring blankets or chairs and a picnic. Each performance can accommodate up to 125 people and will last 40 minutes. Tickets are required to ensure social distancing. In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors [without the picnic].
At 8pm The Big, Baaaad Cabaret will feature soprano Randa Rouweyha and tenor Jesus Daniel who will ‘let their hair down’ a bit in a unique and fun performance. Randa [a sparkling Rosina opposite Lawrence Brownle, and a haunting Lucia] and Jesus [that sexy Pinkerton in Butterfly] have each performed in several OWR operas in the past. This will be their first time performing duets together for OWR audiences. The evening will feature songs ranging from opera arias to Broadway favorites and maybe a surprise or two.
Tickets for the cabaret are priced at $35 [box office fee included]. VIP tickets are $55. Following the performance, VIP ticket holders will be treated to a dessert buffet and a flute of prosecco for a celebratory toast.
Masks required, except when eating.
Tickets are on sale now, order today by visiting operawesternreserve.org or by calling 330-259-0555 or 330-259-9651.
