A holiday music show celebrating the winter with popular holiday music comes to life on the dome at The Ward Beecher Planetarium, transporting the entire family to a magical wonderland of the season. Experience bells and reindeer, presents and cookies, snow and nutcrackers in colorful spectacles of fun!

Shows are Friday, December 5, 12 & 19 at 8:00pm; Saturday, December 6 & 13 at 8:00pm; and Saturday, December 20 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm.

Youngstown Flea presents Holiday Flea on Saturday, December 6 from 9:00am-3:00pm and on Sunday, December 7 from 11:00am-4:00pm. Shop 75+ local vendors. Pet-friendly, free admission and free parking. Kick off the holiday season with the timeless classic for the whole family. Join Ballet Western Reserve as they tell the enchanting story of Clara, Toy Soldiers, the Mouse Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Performances of The Nutcracker will be Saturday, December 6 at 7:00pm, and Sunday, December 7 at 2:30pm at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.

Accompanied by a live symphony orchestra performing the famous Tchaikovsky score, Ballet Western Reserve’s talented cast of dancers take you through a magical journey as Clara’s Nutcracker doll comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse Queen.

The story continues through the snowy pine forest, a greeting from the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy, and a culmination of dancing in the Land of the Sweets. Don’t miss out on the magic!

Lit Youngstown’s Food for Thought book discussion group will meet at 5:30pm the second Thursday of each month at Noble Creature Wild Ales & Lagers. The series, sponsored by the Raymond J. Wean Foundation, will run September 2025 through May 2026.

This year’s titles include a script for the stage, a memoir by a celebrated New Yorker cartoonist, science fiction, novels by an Iranian immigrant and Native American writers, and a book about the changing journalism landscape that includes a chapter on the Youngstown Vindicator.

Penguin City Brewing Company presents the 2025 Penguin City Night Market Season. A night market filled with vendors, crafts, workshops, artist and nonprofit spotlights, specialty drinks, and food trucks. Family and dog-friendly. The night market is held every third Thursday of the month from 5:00pm-9:00pm.

Miracle on Easy Street will return to Powers Auditorium in the DeYor Performing Arts Center December 19-21! Easy Street Productions is headed back to the stage with the triumphant return of their perennial holiday favorite Miracle on Easy Street for three public performances: Friday, December 19 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 20 at 7:30pm; and Sunday, December 21 at 2:30pm.

Easy Street co-founders Maureen Collins and Todd Hancock will once again serve as hosts for the extravaganza featuring over 100 singers, dancers and Little Rascals. Featured performers will include Colleen Chance, Katy Collins, Candace Campana, Cortney MacKay, Natalie Kovacs, & Finn O’Hara.

Musical Director Don Yallech and The Easy Street Little Big Band will blend a mixture of the season’s most popular tunes both old and new. The show’s choreographer Megan Cleland will assemble dancers from studios all across the valley to perform dance routines featuring a wide variety of styles.
