Boardman Park is a 294-acre green oasis in the heart of Boardman Township - located just behind the Shops at Boardman Park and filled with endless opportunities for outdoor fun.
Take the kids and enjoy the park’s two playgrounds; walk, run, bike or rollerblade on the bike and walking trails; play some volleyball or disc golf; reserve the recreation center or St. James Meeting House for your special event; or simply plan a picnic in the green spaces throughout the park!
Playgrounds
Boardman Township Park is home to two play areas. Kids Town Playground is designed for children ages six and older, and Tot’s Town Playground is designed for children five years old and younger.
Hike and Bike Trails
Boardman Park is also home to several nature-filled hike and bike trails. The park’s Hike and Bike Trail is .5 miles long and open for all types of non-motorized use. The North Trail is a .45-mile trail for walkers, joggers, rollerbladers and roller skaters. If you want a longer hike, the Nature Trails and Eisenhower Trail offer three miles of walking trails open to pedestrians only. Dogs are also welcome on the various trails at Boardman Park as long as they are on a leash.
Music in the Park
Throughout the summer, Boardman Park hosts weekly Music in the Park events at their outdoor amphitheater: the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre. Bring your blankets or folding chairs and enjoy the park while listening to live music! The best part? Admission is free!
Tennis & Pickleball Courts
Whether you're a seasoned tennis player or a pickleball novice looking for a friendly match, Boardman Park’s atmosphere is welcoming while still allowing you to get competitive and break a sweat! After all, why not enjoy the fresh air and socialize with fellow sports enthusiasts? Courts are open play and free to use.
Disc Golf Course
Just like many of the other outdoor activities at Boardman Park, the disc golf course (designed by Justin Edwards) is free and open to the public. How do you play? It’s simple! Just like traditional golf, players aim to complete each hole with the fewest attempts… except they use a frisbee instead of a golf ball! The course is 18 holes, with the first nine being family-friendly (and beginner-friendly), while the last nine weave through a wooded area, featuring water obstacles and elevation changes.
Facility Rentals
Hold your next event at Boardman Park! If you’re looking for a space in the warmer months (April through October), consider renting one of five open-air pavilions! If air conditioning is more your thing (or you need more cooking power than a simple grill), Boardman Park’s indoor meeting rooms are perfect for a wide variety of events, with capacities ranging from 40 to 232 people.
Weddings
Boardman Park’s convenient location is the perfect location for outdoor ceremonies. If you’re looking for a traditional church wedding, St. James Meeting House delivers a picturesque setting for every type of ceremony. Or, if you want a small, outdoor feel, you can also rent the beautiful gazebo.

Dog Park
Marge Harman’s Paws Town at Boardman Park is a haven for pups to play and explore. It’s a membership-only dog park for any furry visitor that is fully vaccinated and registered with the County. The double-gated system ensures that you can safely unleash your dog before interacting with others. Plus, separate fence areas for small and large dogs help facilitate safe play.
Membership is just $40 a year for Boardman residents with dogs registered in Mahoning County. For non-residents, the fee is still an affordable $65 a year.
Baseball Fields
Whether you’re putting together a team or just want to throw the ball around, you can get your baseball fix at Boardman Park. If you want to guarantee your field, you can reserve one for just $10 an hour. Otherwise, the fields are free to play on so long as there isn’t a reservation.
Sand Volleyball
Grab some friends and a ball to get the most out of your Boardman Park adventure! Two sand volleyball courts are available and are open-play. It’s fun in the sun and sand, right here in Ohio!
Bocce Courts
Like the baseball fields, Boardman Park’s bocce courts are available for reservation. Located in an outdoor pavilion, you can reserve one court for 1.5 hours with just $10. The reservation also allows you to use bocce balls provided by the park.
Bocce courts are open play when they are not reserved; however, you must bring and use your own equipment.
