A young couple will explain how their local winery grew into distribution of their products across nine states when they address a June 1 Youngstown Press Club gathering. The club’s summer winery event will feature Marisa Sergi and her husband, Evan Schumann, discussing their innovative marketing strategy. The gathering will be from 5pm-8pm at L’uva Bella Winery, 6597 Center Road, which the couple purchased in 2020 from Sergi’s parents.
Within three years after acquiring that business, Sergi and Schumann were named to this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list of young entrepreneurs. Marisa Sergi graduated from Cornell University with a degree in viticulture (grape cultivation) and enology (the study of wines and wine making). She moved home in 2016 and launched RedHead Wine, which is now known as Red’s Wine. Today, L’uva Bella’s brands are sold in major retail store chains in nine states.
