Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Reader Series 2024 opens January 3, 2024 at 7:00pm with true stories by local historians Sean Posey of Canfield and Roslyn Torella of Lowellville. This reading will be at Westside Bowl, downstairs in the Trophy Room, which is accessible only by stairs.
Sean T. Posey is a journalist and historian. His work has appeared in a variety of publications such as Salon, Bill Moyers & Company, and CounterPunch. He is the author of Lost Youngstown, Historic Theaters of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, and Hidden History of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.
Roslyn Torella is the unofficial, self-appointed historian for the village of Lowellville. She is also a genealogist, family historian and YSU graduate. Her first book, Lowellville, Ohio: Murder, Mayhem and More was written as a gift for her late father. Roslyn loves local history and discovering the amazing stories of the people who once called the Mahoning Valley home.
The First Wednesday reading in February will feature Brandon Noel & Tony Wade, editors of Olney Magazine, a locally published, nationally recognized literary journal.
