Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Reader Series Presents poet and fiction writer Kelly Hambly of Kent & poet Jimmy Sutman of Youngstown on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00pm at the Soap Gallery. The reading, free and open to the public, will be co-hosted by Denise Sculli. An open mic will follow the featured readers.
Kelly Hambly writes poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction as a way of connecting her past, present, and future to help heal generational trauma. She is most interested in how writing helps us discover our truths and develop the voices we raise or whisper to share those truths.
Jimmy Sutman is the Director of ISLE Inc. and Purple Cat, businesses that provide services for adults with autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. He is the founder of Goldenstringradio.org, a radio station run by adults with disabilities. He is a recent graduate of the MFA program at St. Leo’s University.
The November First Wednesday reading is made possible with funding from the Char & Chuck Fowler Foundation. The December 7 reading will feature Julie Cancio Harper and Eric Harper of Youngstown.
