First Fridays – October

First Fridays October

First Fridays is a free event held at several locations throughout downtown Youngstown on the first Friday of each month. Enjoy live music, entertainment, delicious food and drink specials, shopping, art exhibits, and much more.

During the month of October, First Fridays will take place on Friday, October 4 from 4-8pm on Wick Avenue in Downtown Youngstown.

4-7:30pm Outdoor Fall Market at Main Library Parking Lot with support from the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County and Noble Creature Wild Ales & Lagers. Inside the Library, you will find Halloween-themed fun for all ages. There will be games, crafts and STEM activities for children. Tweens and Teens can see if they are up to the challenge of our escape room, while adults may win a prize at one of our “Minute to Win It” Halloween games. Make and take a  Halloween-themed craft. You may also win a prize if you are up to our trivia contest. Visit our Culinary Literacy Center where kids and families can create a delicious Caramel Apple bar treat!

4-8pm OH WOW! will be providing 1/2 Price admission

5-8pm First Friday Faculty Exhibit Artist Reception at the McDonough Museum of Art. Penguin City Beer being served with bites to eat.

5-6pm Faculty Exhibit Artist Meet & Greet at McDonough Museum of Art

6-8pm Live Music with AIMLIS at the McDonough Museum of Art

2pm & 8pm shows – The Ward Beecher Planetarium grand reopening celebration.

8-10pm Live Music at Noble Creature with Alabi

4pm-6pm Recreational activities with YSU Campus Rec – volleyball and badminton at Harrison Commons.

Butler Institute of American Art open until 8pm

Cliffe College of Creative Arts – Bliss Hall – 4pm-8pm – YSU Student Art Exhibit in the Solomon Gallery; 7:30pm – CCCA presents “On the Verge” at Ford Theater, Bliss Hall.

St. John’s Episcopal Church – 6pm–6:30pm – Ballet Western Reserve Vignettes from “The Nutcracker”; 4pm–8pm – Lindsay Delullo art exhibit

Penguin City Brewery – Country Line Dance Night – Doors open at 7:30pm
