Step into a winter wonderland with the Mill Creek MetroParks breathtaking display of 80 beautifully decorated trees, all brought to you by local area non-profits. Celebrate the spirit of community this season at the annual Winter Celebration display in the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens from December 6-31. Immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere as you wander through a forest of creativity and compassion. Each tree represents a unique cause that these non-profits support. Bring your loved ones along to this free event and create lasting memories as you explore the intricate decorations and thoughtful displays. Feel the warmth of unity as you learn about these incredible organizations and their impact on our community.
Winter Celebration will be open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00am-5:00pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, December 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22, hours are 11:00am-7:00pm so that visitors can enjoy Winter Nights. Hours Saturday, December 28 and Sunday, December 29 are 10:00am-5:00pm. Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The City of Youngstown, Youngstown CityScape, the Downtown Youngstown Partnership, and title sponsor Premier Bank are excited to present this year’s Youngstown Holiday Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting & Flea on Phelps on Friday, December 6 from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
Activities on Central Square will begin at 4:00pm on Friday, December 6 with all of the amazing vendors at the Flea on Phelps Street. The parade will begin at 6:00pm and the Christmas Tree Lighting will begin immediately following the parade (at approximately 7:15pm).
Santa’s Workshop, Spruce Pop-Up Shop, and free pictures with Santa will be housed at the DeYor Performing Arts Center this year. There will be commemorative mugs with drink specials to fill them all over town! The pop-up Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County will be on site. OH WOW! Children’s Center will be open and free to the public from 4:00pm-6:00pm, and so much more!
Downtown’s The Octave House Band will kick off the holiday celebration, delivering jazzy, updated versions of Holiday Standards from 4:00pm-5:30pm, setting the tone for an evening full of holiday spirit! Lex The Entertainer, a charismatic talent from New York City of Loyalty Events, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. At approximately 7:15pm, as the parade concludes, Lex will welcome one of Youngstown’s most beloved figures, veteran journalist Stan Boney, to the stage for a one-of-a-kind performance. Not to report, but to SING! Boney will join Idora & The Wildcats for a special jazz/funk rendition of his 1980s single, “Hang in There, Youngstown.” The song was written by Youngstown native Mike Pachelli and recorded at the legendary Peppermint Recording Studio. This modern reimagining of a song that once inspired hope and optimism will serve as a fitting tribute to Youngstown’s ongoing renaissance.

A holiday music show celebrating the winter with popular holiday music come to life on the dome transporting the entire family to a magical wonderland of the season. Experience bells and reindeer, presents and cookies, snow and nutcrackers in colorful spectacles of fun!

Visitors should park on the 4th floor of the deck and use the pedestrian bridge to campus. From the campus end of the pedestrian bridge, turn left as you pass the library and use the sidewalk to the Ward Beecher Planetarium. There is a small handicap lot located between Jones Hall & Ward Beecher Hall.
A 45-minute floor yoga session, friendly for beginners, that uses both body movement and breathwork to explore body literacy, promote stress release, and invite a sense of rest and rejuvenation. This session is offered free of charge through the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Participating supports the continuation of local library programs + you get free yoga! Bring yourself, a mat, some water, and whatever else would make you feel comfy.

Rusty Waters Apparel presents Winter Thunderland on Saturday, December 7 from 3:00pm to 12:00am at Westside Bowl. The fourth annual Winter Thunderland will raise money for the Yellow Brick Place Cancer Wellness Center. The garden grounds will be adorned with dazzling light displays that are sure to spark some holiday joy in all the visitors.
