The downbeat is at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 as the Dana School of Music announces a concert featuring the YSU Wind Ensemble, outdoors on Harrison Common Field on Walnut Street (across from the MVR). Ford Theater in Bliss Hall is the rain location. Dr. Michael S. Butler, Director of Bands will conduct, along with Dr. Kate Ferguson, Director of Athletic Bands.
The YSU Wind Ensemble will perform the concert as the sun sets and the stars come out. Selections feature music by George Gershwin, Frank Ticheli, John Philip Sousa, and many more. Patrons may bring a lawn chair and snacks to enjoy this summertime classic, which is free and open to the public. No alcohol is permitted at this concert.
Parking is available in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck or M32 surface lot via Walnut Street (GPS address is 100 Wade Street, Youngstown OH 44502) for a nominal fee.
