Mahoning Valley Historical Society will debut “Tokens of Affection: Historic Valentine Greetings” in its monthly Bites and Bits of History online video presentation at noon on Thursday, January 21. Jessica Trickett, MVHS Collections Manager, will demonstrate various greetings and traditions related to Valentine’s Day.
“This presentation will cover the origins of the holiday, then show many examples of handmade and printed vintage greeting cards, with wonderfully delicate details,” says Trickett. “We are offering this program during the month of January, which is a bit earlier than the traditional February 14 holiday. That’s because next month’s Bites and Bits of History presentation will tie into our annual “Cookie Table and Cocktails” event.”
With continued precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this monthly public outreach program continues to be presented online. The public will be able to view this video presentation on the MVHS YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDHqcfsLJNsV5s-bnahmTNA/videos.
