Registration is now open for the Friends of the Library Canfield Committee’s annual Mah Jongg Tournament. The fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, April 25 from 10am-3pm at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Mah Jongg players of all skill levels eagerly look forward to this well attended tournament each year. The registration deadline is April 17.
The event begins with a meal and raffle ticket sales before tourney play at 11am. It closes with sweets and the announcement of game and raffle winners. The top three players receive cash prizes. The raffle promises many interesting and generous items.

Proceeds of the tournament are used to benefit the library; fundraisers help make possible popular programs like the Children’s Summer Reading Program. The Friends of the Library is a volunteer group that provides ongoing support to the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County through fundraising, book sales and advocacy. The 501c3 non- profit operates the Friends Bookstore located in the Poland Branch. Annual fundraisers include the Mah Jongg Tourney, BrewHaHa beer tasting, and Car Shows. Operating countywide and at branch libraries, there is a Friends Committee near you. New members are welcome.
