Wonderful Wineries

Nothing says summer like a full glass of wine with family and friends enjoying a beautiful view. Each of these wineries feature signature blends that will please even the most discerning palates and outdoor spaces that enhance the whole experience.

Mastropietro Winery (Berlin Center)- The first winery established in Mahoning County, it is nestled on 52 acres close to Lake Berlin and Lake Milton. Featuring a Tuscan-style tasting room and picturesque patio overlooking the lake, this winery is a great place to relax with food, friends, and, of course, wine!

L’uva Bella Winery (Lowellville)- Youngstown’s first and only California-style winery! Enjoy old world wood-fired pizza, tasting plates, and more from their newly expanded menu. With summer in full-swing, spend an evening on their patio enjoying the warm nights and great wine.

Halliday’s Winery (Lake Milton)- What could be better than watching the sun set over beautiful Lake Milton with a glass of wine in hand? Pair the wine with any of their appetizers, flatbreads, salads, or paninis for a memorable meal. After the sun goes down, gather round the fire pits and continue to enjoy the night in comfort. Live music every weekend makes this a perfect girl’s night, date night, or just an excuse to indulge.

Myrddin Winery (Berlin Center)- A very well-hidden gem, this tiny winery is nestled in the secluded woods right on Lake Milton. Sharing plates such as Blueberry Brie, a cheese board, and artichoke spinach dip are on the menu as well as bigger bits like sandwiches and salads. Be warned: this winery is difficult to find.

Lil Paws Winery (Lake Milton)- Another Lake Milton beauty, Lil Paws has a wide variety of wines all named after the founders’ furry friends! Sample your favorite wine or find a new go-to on their beautiful patio with views of the lake.

The Vineyards at Pine Lake (Columbiana)- This winery may be new, but don’t let that fool you. They boast 10 varieties of wine that pair with sharing plates, salads, entrees, and desserts. Their 90-seat patio overlooks the beautiful Pine Lake, the perfect place to be at sunset!

Brews, Outdoor Views, & More

While these breweries and restaurants may not be lakeside, they do allow you to enjoy a craft brew or meal outdoors!

Paladin Brewing (Austintown)- If 16 unique craft beers on tap in a Medieval atmosphere is what you’re looking for, then Paladin is the place for you! Their backyard is open for the summer and has a grill that you can use to cook up some burgers, steak, or whatever else you enjoy grilling. While they don’t serve food, you are welcome to bring anything you’d like or have something delivered.

Magic Tree Pub & Eatery (Boardman)- 41 craft beers, a full menu, and an outdoor patio to enjoy them both at? Yes, please! Magic Tree is known for their great food and even better atmosphere. They also feature Taco Tequila Tuesdays and live music!

Kennsington Grille (Canfield)- Nestled on the lush greens of Kennsington Golf Club, the Grille features a large patio overlooking the grounds and lake. A covered veranda ensures that you can enjoy the beautiful view even in the rain! Full lunch and dinner menus are available as well as sharing plates. 24 select craft beers as well as a large drinks menu will keep you coming back time and again.

Cassese’s MVR (Youngstown)- A Mahoning Valley staple, this restaurant has been attracting visitors and locals alike for generations. Their patio is an oasis within the city, featuring a small fountain and greenery. While it may be small, it makes up for it in charm!

Charlie Staples BBQ (Youngstown)- Come for the BBQ, stay for the view! Locals swear by this BBQ joint as the best in the area. The large restaurant inside leads to the second floor balcony with plenty of seating and a view of the West side of the city.

Be sure to soak up the sun (or sunset!) at any of these fine establishments. Enjoy!
