The Canfield Fairgrounds are home to the largest county fair in the state of Ohio — and the 3rd largest in the USA!

While everyone goes to the fair, The Canfield Fairgrounds in Mahoning County also hosts all kinds of fun throughout the year. Whether you’re into demolition derbies or dog shows, you can find it at the Fairgrounds.

The Canfield Fair

Looking for something to crow about? The Canfield Fair is the place to be!

Over 275,000 people flocked to the Fair in 2023 to ride the rides, taste the food and see stunning live performances by Koe Wetzel and Boyz II Men. Each year, top-charting stars visit the Fairgrounds to perform at the Grandstand. Previous music acts include Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Rascal Flatts, The Beach Boys and Bob Hope.

Canfield Scaregrounds

In October, the Fairgrounds transform into the scariest spot in the Mahoning Valley. People flock from Boardman, Austintown, Youngstown and beyond to face off against zombies and test their courage in the haunted barn. For more information, visit their website at canfieldscaregrounds.com.

Canfield 4th of July Fireworks

The Fairgrounds host Canfield’s 4th of July celebration every year. Along with a spectacular firework show, the Fairgrounds feature music, food trucks and a bounce house for the kids.

Other Upcoming Events

The Canfield Fairgrounds regularly hosts several kinds of events throughout the year, including horse racing, demolition derbies and seasonal attractions.

Animal Shows

The fair hosts regular animal shows. You can see horse shows, dog shows and even exotic small goat shows throughout the year.

Automotive Events

If you love cars, you’ll want to check out Dave & Ed’s Super Swap Meet. This huge automotive flea market features car parts, vintage signs, collectibles and more.

Races

The Canfield Fairgrounds host several races throughout the year such as the You Complete Me 5k in February and the Flash in the Night evening race in July.

Recycling

There are several recycling drives throughout the year at the Fairgrounds, including the Green Team Shredding Drive and Tire Recycling Drive.

Michael Kusalaba Fund of the Youngstown Foundation Event Center

In 2023, the Michael Kusalaba Fund of the Youngstown Foundation Event Center was officially opened at the Canfield Fairgrounds. The multi-purpose expo center is open for events and expositions year-round. Notably, Youngstown Comic Con and the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of the Mahoning Valley’s Home & Garden Show have both used the space.
