Mint Condition – In Concert
The members of Mint Condition met as teenagers growing up in the Twin Cities with influences like Prince, The Time, Jam & Lewis, The Replacements, and Soul Asylum. Keyboardists Lawrence El and Keri Lewis, guitarist O’Dell, keyboardist/saxophonist Jeff, drummer/vocalist Stokley, and bass player Ricky came together in the performing arts program at Central High School. Anointed early on in their career by superstar producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (formerly of the band The Time), two decades later Mint Condition stands along with The Roots as the only high-profile examples of a self-contained, hit-making Black music band. Creating modern, infectious soul grooves fringed with Latin & jazz, combined with fiery dashed of rock and funk, Mint Condition produced five studio albums over nearly two decades of performing.
The group will take to the historic former Warner Brothers’ Theater, now Powers’ Auditorium, for an electric live performance, one night only, with special guests Silk & Troop. Tickets start at $44, call the DeYor PAC box office at 330-744-0264.
